The Rock On Which I Stand

Hello everyone!

As I write this, it is “Spring” Break but the weather begs to differ. We are supposed to get even more snow this weekend (and not a light dusting either) and as people are planning to travel back from break, their plans may be disrupted. My own plans to go home this weekend were changed due to the predicted bad weather. But even as things around me can change in a second, I am reminded that God never changes.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. -Hebrews 13:8

I will be graduating college in less than two months.

I will be done at my favorite job yet in two and a half months.

I will have to say “See ya later” to my closest friends, church families, and my mom, dad, and brother in the coming months.

I will be in New Zealand in exactly 4 months today!

Wow. Those are some big changes coming.

And although I may at times feel a bit anxious about the details, I am SO stinking excited!!! God keeps reminding me that even as my whole life will be changed in the next few months, He is always constant. He is my foundation. My rock.

Whew. Thank goodness we serve a God who is mighty enough to create the heavens and earth and everything in all creation, but intimate enough to meet me where I am and remind me of His unchanging love for me.

He demonstrates His amazing love for me daily. One of the ways He has done this is by continually giving me peace about YWAM. God has done what only He can do and has provided the support I need for this upcoming adventure.

He has provided amazing prayer partners and supporters and He has provided financially.

Okay, here is it is.

God has provided 95%, yes that’s right!!! 95% of my fundraising goal already!!!!

$12,335 has been raised!!!!!!

God is amazing. AMAZING.

Thank you to every person who has supported me this far. I am so humbled by each prayer, donation, and encouraging word. Thank you for your faithfulness in supporting me during this crazy adventure!!! It is going to be life-changing.

God bless you all!

P.S. I have purchased my first hiking pack, and have excitedly showed it to my friends. It is getting more real for sure!!

Much love,

Ashley McFarland
