What is YWAM?
“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” -Mark 16:15
YWAM (Youth With A Mission), is a global movement of followers of Jesus who are dedicated to presenting the hope and truth of the Gospel to the whole world by obeying God’s word, loving and serving others, and growing closer to God and in community with other believers.
YWAM is a global organization that has many bases all around the world. The base God led me to is in Queenstown, New Zealand and the program will run from July 2019 to December 2019. YWAM programs are typically split into two phases: Discipleship Training School (DTS) for 3 months and Outreach for 2-3 months. Each DTS has a different focus, and the focus of my program will be Prayer & Compassion. The Prayer & Compassion DTS will challenge me to grow in my relationship with God, and particularly in my prayer life. The Outreach portion will take place after the DTS is completed. I will travel with a team from New Zealand to a third world country to live as a missionary proclaiming the Gospel by tangibly meeting physical needs.
Why am I going?
God has transformed my life and He continues to amaze me every single day. He has called me to step completely out of my comfort zone and to grow into a deeper relationship with Him. This will be the biggest step of faith I have ever taken, but I’m 110% ready to take it because I know God will be with me every step of the way!
God has called me to go, so I must go. The hope of the Gospel has changed my life forever and I want to tell the whole world so it can change lives. I want everyone to know that true hope and true joy and true love and true peace and true comfort can only come from one thing. That one thing is Jesus Christ. If you’re reading this and you haven’t heard of the Gospel, here it is:
Jesus SAVES. He has saved me and He can save you! Jesus died on the cross for my sins and for your sins, too, and three days later He overcame death and rose from the grave! Because Jesus died for us, all of our sins can be forgiven and we can live in freedom. All you have to do is ask Jesus into your heart as the Savior of your life. Trust in God and He will begin to transform your life forever! It’s not going to be an easy journey, but trust me it is WORTH it. Absolutely nothing in this world can begin to compare with what I have in Jesus, please believe me on that. You will have the most joy, hope, love, peace, & comfort from Jesus, than from anything in this world.
I am EXTREMELY excited for every step of this incredible adventure! I’m excited to see how God will work now as I begin to support raise, how He will work in New Zealand, and how He will work in a third world country. I know this experience will change my life forever, and I couldn’t be more pumped to take this next step.
