Hello all!
I feel like I just wrote an update but that was already 4 weeks ago! Time really does fly when you are in DTS. Every day is long (but good) but each week goes faster than the last. “YWAM time” is something I’m still trying to understand!
Any who, the last 4 weeks have been good! God is still so good and wanting to pull me in deeper and deeper. I’ve started to understand more of what it means to know God as my first love and it has been a beautiful journey. Here’s a fun little poem for my first love:

My First Love
You are always on my mind.
I think about you when I lay down,
And when I wake in the morning bright.
You are the one I want to know fully.
You are the one I want to dream with.
You are the one I want to walk with.
I love you with my whole heart,
And I’m excited for this life with you!
I have also rediscovered my love for writing in this time!! It has been so fun to journal with God and write poems. He has given me some cool gifts and I’m excited to learn more of what my gifts are and about the woman He has made me to be.
GOD IS SO FUN & COOL & WORTHY TO GET TO KNOW!!! 😀
Another super exciting thing is that my team will be leaving for Outreach to Papua New Guinea and Southeast Asia in ONE WEEK!!!! I have started packing for outreach and it is honestly crazy to me it is almost here already.
I’m excited for this next step and I know God will do amazing things in and through each of us!!
Here are some prayer points for you for my outreach team while we are abroad:
- Unity
- Choosing to have positive attitudes
- Emotional, spiritual, & physical health
- Culture shock (PNG has quite a different culture than America or NZ)
- Boldness to share Jesus’ love & truth
- Our personal relationships with God to grow stronger
- A growing hunger for the Word
- Our relationships with one another to grow stronger
- Love & respect for one another at all times
- Anything else God lays on your heart!
***IMPORTANT*** I will not be taking my phone with me on Outreach. My outreach leaders and a couple of others will have theirs but I just personally felt not to take it when I was given the choice. I just want to trust God fully in this time and WiFi won’t be available in most places. Even though I won’t be able to personally send updates, my team will be sending 2-3 updates while we are abroad to the email addresses I provide. So, if you would like these updates, message me your email address! Also, I will be sure all of my blog subscribers will receive these updates. I am flying out on September 30th and will be back in NZ on December 8th.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support!!
With Love,
Ashley
